It’s been a long time, but I’ll be updating the site shortly. I’ve got a few ideas and a coast-to-coast walk to plan!

I’ll hopefully get some time to upload the routes from my SatMap GPS later this week, sorry for the delay!
Finally back at home after a lovely evening in Manchester with my Dad.
I’ve uploaded quite a lot of photos to my Flickr account and will be adding the video updates to YouTube over the next couple of days.
Morning campers!
Today is a beautiful day in Carlisle where it’s warm and sunny. The best thing about today is, however, that it’s a day after I’ve completed the Hadrians Wall Walk. That means rather than a 7am start with low GI cereal designed to slowly release energy as I pound across Tyneside, Northumbria or Cumbria, I’ve had a lie in, excellent hot shower and a full English breakfast is on the go in the van.
We’ve now got a free day to explore Carlisle before heading off down the M6 to meet my Dad for dinner and a comfy hotel (with a bath – what decadence!) in the centre of Manchester tomorrow.
Job done. After an effort I’d like to think a centurion would be proud of, I finished the Hadrians Wall Walk today at 7:45pm.
Today started with a 1.5 mile stroll to pick up the bus to Lanercost Priory. I arrived at 10:40 and set straight off. The going was very good with excellent weather. I was easily making 16 and 17 minute miles.
Lunch was at the Sands Centre in Carlisle and that was when I decided to walk all of the last 2 legs in one day.
Got to the final stamp point (see photo). Had a quick pint in the Kings Arms and signed the walkers book as is the tradition. Got my certificate as well.
Mel and I are celebrating with beer and curry in the van and the alarm will be off tomorrow!!
Oh, nearly forgot. Miles walked today was a blistering (literally!) 29.5. I’m really pleased to finish the walk with a new personal best in terms of distance and pace in a single day.
Thanks to all for your support. I’ll be posting the videos I’ve taken as soon as interwebs allow.
Just stopped fir lunch. Freshly made ham salad sandwich and a cup of steaming Northern tea!
Got stamp 6 out of 7 in my passport, Bowness here I come.
…near Carlisle. Should I press the button and wait for the little green man or make a run for it?
I’ve seen enough lamb on this walk to last me a lunchtime. Pass the mint sauce!
